Langdon Hills Council

On the 12th January the DGM and members of the District Team made a visit to Langdon Hills Council No 208 at Orsett Masonic Hall.

Excellent Masters Degree

On Monday 22nd November VIII Comp. Malcolm Hill, III Comps. Brian Heasman and Richard Bowyer received the Degree of Excellent Masters in The Grafton Council of Anointed Kings No 16 at MMH. The conferral of the degree had been delayed due to the pandemic and should have happened in November 2020, February 2021 as well as November 2021. Several of the members who received the degree stayed to dine and pictured below is III Comp. Richard Bowyer and the DGM relaxing in the bar at MMH before dinner.

Visit to the Thomas Howard Council No 158

On the 19th November the DGM and 8 members of the District Team (plus another 4 who are members of The Thomas Howard Council) visited The Thomas Howard Council where they received a warm welcome from the members present. The TIM III Comp. Steve McConnell was proclaimed and he invested his Officers. The members then rehearsed the Royal Master degree and the TIM III Comp. Steve McConnell not only did the Masters work but vacated the chair to act as PCW and demonstrated the Soliloquy or perambulation. All work performed was totally first class. III Comp. Eric Husband was elected to be the next TIM of the Council.

The work in the Temple was followed by an excellent festive board which was enjoyed by all present.

 

Thames Estuary Council No 103


At its meeting on the 2nd November 2021 the Council celebrated 2 milestones.

Firstly its consecration over 50 years ago on 30th June 1970 and secondly RIII Comp. Dennis Baum having been a member of the Council and the Order for over 40 years (the celebration of both these events had been delayed due to lockdown).

The DGM accompanied by the District Team attended the event as well as other guests including, The PGPCW RIII Comp. Michael Spencer OSCM and RIII Comp. Paul Tarrant.

The DGM gave a brief resume of RIII Comp. Dennis’s history in the Order which began on 5th February 1980. He was proposed by his Father RIII Comp. Derek Baum and seconded by his Grand Father III Comp. Leonard Baum. Dennis became a RIII Comp in 2012.                                                         III Comp Mal Williams recounted some of the events that had taken place in the Council since it’s consecration over 50 years ago.

Colchester Council No 142

The District Grand Master accompanied by the District Team made a visit to Colchester Council No 142 on 21st October 2021. The TIM, III Companion Derek Burrell was proclaimed to continue in Office until the next regular meeting in February 2022 when Companion Andrew Johnson will be Installed in the chair. 

The TIM and Council Officers then demonstrated the degree of Select Master in a first class manner and the meeting was followed by an excellent festive board which was enjoyed by all who attended.
